A Mischievous Song: an Official Daemonologie Scenario
A downloadable scenario
My Lady Gwyfann,
I am sure you understand how deeply a Welsh soul needs poetry.
-
A Mischievous Song takes the Inquisitors to the Elenydd, the "Desert of Wales" during an a traditional Welsh poetry competition (an Eisteddfod), to track down a missing manuscript of the dead poet, Ieuan ap Sefnyn. This is the first official scenario for Daemonologie and can be played with the Basic or Advanced Field Guide or adapted for other play settings.
-
I speak of a theft from my father’s private library, and one that disquiets me somewhat.
-
In 34 pages, this camp and silly Scenario contains:
- A detailed breakdown of the region of Elenydd.
- A Demonic Patron, a fiendish coven, and a new spell for them to use.
- A host of information about encounters.
- Frameworks that you may adopt for your own Scenarios.
- A period map of Wales, one of the original, and one scrubbed for specific use.
- Gorgeous paintings of dramatic Welsh landscapes and period scenes from the National Library of Wales and the British Library.
-
I have never read this song of mischief, call it a memory of boyhood fear, though it strikes me queerly that any should wish to steal a dead groundsman’s poems.
-
Daemonologie can be a very dark fantasy game, and while this is a lighter adventure, the text bears mention to many potentially distressing topics. We recommend you are sensitive to this when reading, taking breaks when needed. When playing the Scenario hold an introductory session to discuss triggers, and if they are present in the writing then leave aside that element for play.
The Scenario is priced at $9, but if you pay $12 then you get the Advanced Field Guide thrown in.
